Dr. Andrew Lundberg
Dr. Andrew Lundberg is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery. Dr. Lundberg is a native of North Carolina. After completing his undergraduate studies at Guilford College in North Carolina he received his Medical Degree from Bowman Grey School of Medicine. He then finished a 5 year residency in General Surgery and a fellowship in Vascular Surgery at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. Dr. Lundberg has been instrumental in the building and development of the first ever angiography suite at Henry County Medical Center. With this technology and his training, Dr. Lundberg can apply vascular and endovascular techniques to repair aneurysms and blockages of blood vessels. This can often times be accomplished with only a 2 inch incision and overnight hospital stay where much more extensive surgery was required in the past. He also uses laser technology to treat varicose veins in the legs and he oversees our onsite vascular lab for early diagnosis and treatment of vascular disease.
Vascular Surgery
Although good blood flow is essential to every part of the body, Vascular Surgery deals specifically with problems in the blood vessels themselves. Arteries and veins can become narrowed over time and decrease vital blood flow. These vessels can also stretch and become dilated and eventually rupture. The Vascular surgeons at Paris Surgical Specialists are trained in special techniques to relieve blockages and repair stretched vessels before they cause problems.
Dr. Lundberg has worked diligently to facilitate the development of the areas first Angiography suite. This very special room contains the modern equipment needed to find and fix a problem within a blood vessel. Many surgeries that used to take hours and involved a lengthy hospital stay can now be accomplished with a 2-inch incision on an outpatient basis. Small, specialized instruments can be inserted into the blood vessels and guided through the blood stream to the problem area. Once located, an unhealthy vessel can be cleaned out, repaired, or reinforced with special devices called stents that hold the vessel open. Options that were previously only available in major cities are now here for you in Paris, Tennessee.

Varicose Vein Treatment
Veins return blood to the heart and lungs so it can be re-oxygenated. A system of valves in the veins allows the blood to flow back up the leg towards the heart. The procedure is covered by most insurance plans. When valves fail or leak, gravity causes blood to flow backwards and pool inside the vein and this results in a varicose vein. Varicose veins can be unsightly but they can also cause significant discomfort.
Dr. Andrew Lundberg is a Board Certified Vascular Surgeon who uses ultrasound guided laser therapy to treat varicose veins. This treatment can be performed on an outpatient basis in the privacy of our surgery center using local anesthesia and tiny incisions. Since no two cases of varicose veins are exactly alike, Dr. Lundberg will meet with you and design a treatment program to meet your specific needs. Please contact us to schedule your consultation with Dr. Lundberg to discuss your options.
